InfraMap’s own John Midyette was honored recently by the Richmond Joint Engineers Council for his dedicated service as the longest serving Chair of the organization. The Richmond Joint Engineers’ Council is a local coalition of engineering, scientific and technical societies in the Richmond/Petersburg metropolitan areas of Virginia. The RJEC aims to promote STEM education in the Richmond/Petersburg areas, providing a vehicle to disseminate knowledge and information relating the art and science of engineering to its member societies and the general public.
RJEC sponsors multiple local scholarships at VCU and VSU, and hosts a Speakers Bureau and the Annual Leadership Forum for all area Engineering Societies. RJEC actively participates in the nationwide annual Engineers Week, hosting the Annual Engineers’ Banquet, sponsoring essay and video contests, and hosting an Engineering Ingenuity Day at the Science Museum of Virginia.
Mr. Midyette has been a member of the RJEC (representing ASHE) since 2008. He served five consecutive one-year terms as chair from 2015 – 2020. Mr. Midyette continues to serve as the RJEC’s Student Contest Chair.
