InfraMap Honors Longest Tenured Employee

InfraMap was founded in 1987, just nine years prior to Mr. Ellis joined the team. Only our CEO/President Paul Hayes has been here longer.

This July, InfraMap Corp. honored our Vice President of Field Operations, Mr. Simon Ellis, with a celebration marking his 25th anniversary with InfraMap. The staff was able to surprise him with a luncheon in his honor and presented him with the first InfraMap anniversary award.

He just kept showing up... so that helped," joked CEO/President Paul Hayes. "But seriously, thank you for everything.

From Paul Hayes, CEO, President of InfraMap

A Dedicated Employee

Mr. Ellis is a prime example of hard work and determination paying off. A self-proclaimed “company man”, Mr. Ellis first joined the team in 1996 without any knowledge of SUE/UIM. Mr. Ellis applied himself fully to learning every process and procedure correctly, demonstrating exemplary leadership skills and brought to the team an unparalleled industry interest and work ethic. Today Mr. Ellis serves as our Vice President of Field Operations, overseeing designating crews, coordinating survey, providing data to our CADD department to produce utility maps, and performing project review and quality assurance. Additionally, Mr. Ellis oversees our field training, safety and veteran leadership programs.

Mr. Ellis is a Marine Corps veteran. He served in Operations Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom, and retired from the United States Marine Corps Reserve as a Gunnery Sergeant.

InfraMap’s Executive Vice President, Ken Kerr, came down from the New Jersey offices to help mark the occasion. Mr. Kerr says, “Simon represents the best of InfraMap. I’ve come to know and trust Simon, and admire him for his accomplishments”.

“Simon has been an inspiration and mentor to so many of our current and former staff, especially our field guys. He’s shown us that hard work and perseverance can provide a path for upward mobility within this industry”, commented Rich Sodan, Project Manager.

InfraMap was founded in 1987, just nine years prior to Mr. Ellis joined the team. Only our CEO/President Paul Hayes has been here longer.

“The InfraMap in-house training program offers Veterans (like me) a chance at a rewarding career. I had a few different jobs when I left active duty, but it rarely felt like I was doing anything meaningful or challenging in the “civilian world”. That changed over 25 years ago when I began working here. InfraMap’s on-the-job training allowed me to acquire new skills, take on new responsibilities, and eventually work my way up from an entry level position to Vice President of Field Operations. Teamwork and attention to detail are required in everything we do, so Veterans who join InfraMap will soon discover that their military skillsets are highly compatible with Infrastructure Mapping.”
