Utility Coordinator

Summary:

After initial training is completed, the Utility Coordinator will be working under the direction of an office manager/regional director to manage all processes and procedures involved in relocating utilities during a project. The Utility Coordinator will be working with utility companies and project owners (department of transportation for example) on what utilities on a project will be impacted and what utilities need to be relocated within specfic dates.

Education:

  • EIT or Civil Engineering degree preferred.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • EIT or Civil Engineering background in municipal work (water or gas companies) or construction management background.
  • Utility coordination experience on large, high profile, projects.
  • Experience in working with utility and project owners.
  • Experience in reviewing project plans.
  • Experience in determining prior rights, easement requirements, role of responsibility, cost estimates, no cost letters, etc.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test. 
  • Must be able to read, write and use a map. 

Preferred Skills:

  • Department of transportation experience.
  • Previous employment within an engineering firm in the utilites or surveying industry.
