Surveyor 

Summary:

After initial training is completed, the surveyour will be working under the direction of a field manager and assigned to various work sites. The surveyor will be responsible for conducting field surveys and recording data of marked utilities after they have been located using various electronic tools. The surveyor will also be cross trained in utility locating and will be eligible to participate in the management in training program. The locating consists of marking surface, subsurface, and aerial utilities including gas, water, sewer, phone, power, and CATV lines. Monday - Friday travel is required depnding on where the work is located.

Education:

  • High School Education or GED is preferred.
  • Surveyor degree or certificate is preferred or equivalent experience.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Every candidate/employee must have their own form of transportation to the office and from the office every day. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. 
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must have some surveying experience or a recent graduate of a survey program.
  • Must be proficient or capable of becoming proficient with data collectors and total stations.
  • Must have good communication skills (verbal and written), attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to read and understand maps, records, and prints. 
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment. 
  • Must be a self starter, motivated, ambitious, indepedent, and willing to travel, and work outdoors.
  • Employee needs to have Steel Toed boots and long pants. They must also wear a shirt that can get dirty. 
  • Hard hat, safety vest and safety glasses will be provided by InfraMap Corp.

Preferred Skills:

  • TDS data collection and Eagle Point experieince helpful but not required.
  • Utility systems, mapping, or surveying experience helpful but not requried.
  • College education or Military background helpful but not required.
  • Utilities or construction experience highly desireable by not required.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • The employee is ocassionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move (e.g. manhole covers or similar items) as required by the particular job.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regulary exposed to outside weather conditions.
