Cad Manager

Summary:

After initial training is completed the CAD Manager will be responsible for the CAD department management, maintain the quality control of all CAD drafting/mapping projects. These projects include producing visual guidelines or drawings for surface, subsurface, and aerial utilities within AutoCAD or MicroStation. Other responsibilities include maintaining and enforcing CAD standards, assigning projects to the CAD staff, configuration and installation of CAD software, troubleshoot technical CAD problems, support CAD users, and meet project delivery expectations. The CAD manager is also responsible for training staff members on CAD procedures and standards.

Education:

  • High School Education or GED is preferred.
  • A degree or certificate in CAD is preferred.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test. 
  • Must have a basic understanding of general office procedures and knowledge of drafting standards. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency with both AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Must have prior management/supervisory experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced AutoCAD skills understanding the overall program operation.
  • 5 years of CAD management experience is preferred.
  • Civil engineering, utility, or construction background a plus but not required.
  • Background in land surveying, field, or road work a plus but not required.
  • Survey processing tool experience with TDS or Eagle Point a plus but not required.
  • Understand programming language behind MicroStation and AutoCAD.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with hardware support.
